Helpful Definitions for Spiritual Gifts

Prophet-a person regarded as an inspired teacher or proclaimer of the will of God.  Psychic-soul; relating to or denoting faculties or phenomena that are apparently inexplicable by natural laws, especially involving telepathy or clairvoyance. Healer-channels healing energy and information, intuitive-senses energy of people, places, things, and the future, empath-senses others’ feelings, sensitive-senses information more than the cognitive mind can perceive, angel reader-connects to the angelic realm, astral projection-projects the mind beyond the physical body, clairvoyant-clear seeing, clairaudient-clear healring, clairsentient-clear feeling both physical sensations and emotions, clairolfactant-clear smelling, clairgustant-clear tasting, claircognizant-clear knowing, bilocation-being in two places at once with your awareness and even people seeing you, divination-techniques to acquire information outside of your rational mind, dowsing-using a tool to find water in the ground or measure energy or pain in the body, psychic surgery-using energy healing and mental focus techniques to remove obstructions in the body. 

Channeler-mediumship practice whereby an individual relays messages from the unseen world, shaman-a sacred honorary title given only to one who merits it through proven abilities, and in some cultures you must be 81 years old to have acquired enough wisdom to be considered for it, automatic writer-the individual goes into a trance state and a spirit moves their arm and writes through them, old soul-someone who has had many lifetimes, witch doctor-one who has mastered using ceremony, song, chanting, dance, ritual, moving energy, and healing to create lasting healing and move forces of nature, artist medium-channels spirit artists or creates art depicting spirit communicators or uses an infinite variety of artistic expression through mediumship.

Mental medium-links to the spirit of the sitter or the spirit communicator and relays messages and healing in a mild trance state, trance medium-practices achieving a deep trance to allow spirit communicators to speak through them, physical medium-creates tremendous energy so a spirit communicator can speak through them with their own voice, move objects, and create apparitions out of ectoplasm, table tipper-medium who can touch their fingertips to the top of heavy furniture and move it about the room, introvert-a person who is generally focused inward, analytical, telepathy-reading another person’s mind, dream telepathy-reading another person’s mind while in the dream state, energy medicine-mastering moving energy for healing, levitation-the lifting of objects, materialization-causing physical objects to manifest from energy, rddhi-Buddhist word for psychic powers achieved by advanced meditation. 

Psychokinesis or telekinesis-the action of mind on matter causing objects to move or change, ergokinesis-psychically manipulate various forms of energy and energy phenomena, pyrokinesis-create and control fire with the mind, remote viewing or ESP, extra sensory perception-the ability perceive information and imagery of remote geographical targets, psychometry-the ability to discover facts about a person or event by touching inanimate objects associated with them, prognosticator-foretells or prophesies a future event, akashic records reader-in the religion of Theosophy, the records are a compendium of all universal events, thoughts, words, emotions, and intent ever to have occurred in the past, present, or future of all entities and life forms, not just human, dream tracker-able to find people and things while dreaming, dream walker-able to enter another person’s dreams at will, dream dancer-able to move energy to heal a person, place, or issue while dreaming, shared dreams-like it sounds, precognition-foreknowledge, retrocognition-knowledge of the past, apportation-a material object that manifests suddenly and mysteriously through the powers of a medium, scryer-looking into a medium like water or crystal to detect significant messages or visions of guidance, protector-can create energy fields around people, places, or things to protect them, or fight psychic attacks against yourself or others in trance or while dreaming.
